GLOBAL CLASSROOM PROJECT

»»»»

The global classroom project was an initiative designed by teachers and students to "enhance student learning through a collaborative theme-based project model utilising telecommunications technology".

In the final and summative work conducted by Dr. Elaine Atkinson from the Centre for the Study of Higher Education, of the entire two year, state wide project, the conclusion stated:

"The Global Classroom Telecommunications project has shown that network learning is not, as some would see it, most approriately undertaken by individuals in isolation. Rather, through projects of this type, it has proved to be a highly effective avenue for cooperative learning in group settings."

But perhaps, the detail of some 140 pages of evaluation research over two years can best be sumarised in the words of those that have completed the journey from 'footsteps to songlines'.
