International Teachers Meeting

Melbourne, Australia.

The conference will build on the highly successful inaugural
teachers meeting in Puerto Madryn, Argentina in July of 1994.

The conference will represent the collective talents of I*EARN
teachers and students from across the globe. Educators will meet in
Melbourne to further the work of the I*EARN Network and to use the
face to face meeting to build greater personal links with
international colleagues.

I*EARN facilitates projects designed to empower young people (P-
12) to work together in different parts of the world through a global
telecommunications network (I*EARN).

I*EARN now includes school communities in approximately 28
countries: the US, former USSR, China, Costa Rica, Israel, Australia,
Belgium, South Korea, Canada, New Zealand, Argentina, Mexico,
England, Finland, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland,South Africa,
Indonesia, Hungary, Brazil, Kenya and Spain. In addition, we are
negotiating with organizations in Nicaragua, Egypt, Cuba Singapore
and Zimbabwe.

The conference will also be open to educators from outside the
I*EARN Network.

Discussions and demonstrations of the latest developments in
educational practice utilising telecommunications and associated
technology will be the key focus of the workshop sessions.
