Let me send my best wishes to you and the students and teachers that will attend the Students Forum on Wednesday de 15th to discuss the power of telecommunications in education.
I've been lucky to have had the opportunity to work with the Australian I*EARN team for the last four years. Students in my country have realised that we have different school year schedules, that we are in different terms and some times we have woken you up in the middle of the night to have a life Lumaphone empowered our students and which have given them a real global perspective.
Let me continue using Spanish to give the feeling that we are global. The Spanish I*EARN center is situated in Catalonia, a region in the North East of Spain, with our own roman latin language, Catalan. Spanish, Catalan and English are the main languages taught at school.
El Centro I*EARN Espanya ha promovido dentro de la red algunos proyectos educativos entre los que destacan: el proyecto de solidaridad con una escuela de un campo de refugiados bosnios en Croacia, con los que tuvimos comunicacion telematica durante cuatro meses y en el que hubo participacion de escuelas australianas entre muchas de distintos paises.
En el marco del Anyo Internacional de la Familia propusimos un proyecto multicultural y multilingue sobre la familia en distintos paises del mundo con participacion de escuelas de 16 paises distintos pertenecientes a distintos hemisferios. Debo felicitarle por el compromiso y participacion de profesores y alumnos de escuelas australianas en este proyecto.
Con el animo de compartir con ustedes esta jornada de encuentro de alumnos, reciban mi mas cordial saludo y mis deseos de seguir trabajando en el presente y en el futuro en proyectos educativos que nos enriquezcan a todos.
